Tonight will be the last time Preston Knowles will play in front of his home crowd in Louisville. It is sure to be an emotional night for Preston and his family, and hopefully the fans at the Yum! Center will make it one that he will never forget. One has to think that Knowles will be forever grateful to Rick Pitino for not only being one of the few coaches willing to take a chance on him, but also for putting him in the best position to succeed. Knowles saw some valuable minutes as a Freshman, and quickly became a fan favorite for his tenacious defense. His role as steadily increased in his time at UofL, capped off by being named the sole captain for his senior year. Knowles has risen to the challenge this year and became a leader, and a complete player. He does everything: rebounds, finds the open man, plays intense defense, and can knock down the open (or not so open) shot. Hopefully Knowles can continue his solid play and lead the cardinals on a deep tournament run.
Oh, and who can forget the chinstrap?
