My newest illustration features UofL great Francisco Garcia. Garcia helped to bring back the relevance of UofL basketball under Pitino, by leading the Cards to a Final Four before making the jump to the NBA. Since leaving Louisville, Garcia has been holding down a starting roll with the Kings. I was able to go to Rupp last year to see Garcia’s national team play against some former UK players, and Garcia dominated the game. I hadn’t been able to watch him play much since he departure at UofL, but he still had every bit the jumper I remembered and hadn’t lost a step. Garcia has been a good representative of the university, and will be a fan favorite for many fans my age for years to come.
